DETAILS ABOUT HOUSING

Nights, breakfasts at the hotel and lunches are included in the fees.

You will be accommodated in a single room in a "hotel residence" in the city of Grenoble, near the train station, tramway stations, shops... and at about 15-20 minutes far from ESONN lectures place, close to CIME Minatec...

​

The Hipark by Adagio Grenoble is located in the Europole business district, close to the city center and all amenities. This 3-star tourist residence offers completely furnished apartments with fully-equipped kitchens.
Guests benefit from access to the sauna, fitness room, meeting room and, on request, a private car park (extra charge).

The reception staff are on hand 24 hours a day to cater for your needs.

During the practicals days, you will have lunch, either in a reserved room at CIME, or in the canteen of the laboratory where the practicals will take place.

The dinners during all the session and the lunches during the week-end are not organised and not included in the fees.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

LOCATION : Grenoble, Rhône-Alpes, France.

 

International Airport
Grenoble is located 80 km East of Lyon "Saint-Exupéry" international airport, the closest international airport. It is one hour by shuttle bus, which is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to reach Grenoble.

• One-way Ticket prices rank from 7-25 €. 

• If you land in Paris or another city (Marseille, etc.), you can take a train to the Grenoble Railway station (Gare de Grenoble). Click here to book your train ticket online (we advise you to book only through this website, as it is the official one).

• Grenoble's Bus terminal (gare routière) and Railway station (gare SNCF) are located within a 5-minute walk from each other and are only a 15 min walk or 5 minutes in public transportation from your accomodation.

 

National Airport
Grenoble-Isère airport offers direct flights with Paris-Orly. A shuttle bus operates between Grenoble-Isère airport and Grenoble bus/railway station for each arriving or departing flight (45 mn).
For your information, the cost of a taxi ride (at your own expense) Grenoble airport - Grenoble bus/railway station is approximately 60€  (add 50% on weekends or at night, duration: 35 mn).

 

Train
Several high speed trains (TGV) daily connect directly Grenoble and Paris-Gare de Lyon or Paris-Roissy airport (3 hour trip).

 

Car rentals
In Grenoble, all major car rental companies have offices at the airport or in town, most of them in front of the bus/railway station.

 

 

OTHER GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Insurance
While ESONN organization makes every effort in order to ensure the safety and well being of all participants and associates, the organization cannot take responsibility for any accident or damage that may occur during the School.
Moreover, for the final registration of each participant, copies of civil liability and health insurance are required.

 

Car Park
There is ample free parking space around the school. Do not hesitate to come and see the staff to obtain a park authorisation for the time of school. However, parking around the hotel is taxed.

 

Bank
Foreign currency may be exchanged at several banks in Grenoble downtown.
You can also find cash dispenser for VISA cards.

 

Weather conditions
The weather in end of August/beginning of September tends to be very pleasant and sunny.
However, bring a raincoat for occasional rain shower or for cool evenings. 

 

Walks in the mountains around Grenoble

The Vercors, Belledonne and Chartreuse mountains are very beautiful natural sites for walking during this period of the year. Think to bring with you: adapted shoes for walking (sports or hiking shoes), a ruck-sack to bring your things, sun glasses and sports clothes…
